Hi, I’m Jeremy Cordero — Founder & LightKeeper of Go Travel Community (GTC) — and I want to share a little bit about who I am, why I created this company, and how I believe travel can transform lives, build community, and make a difference in the world.

From Dishwasher to Global Hotel Openings

My career in hospitality began humbly: I was a dishwasher. From there, I worked my way up as a busboy, then into hotels at the front desk. I eventually transitioned into sales & marketing, working weddings, catering, and group sales. Over time, I grew into corporate roles, including training and rolling out a global CRM for Marriott & Starwood prior to their merger.

But the real highlight of my career? Hotel openings. For over seven years, I specialized in opening hotels (sales & marketing, then Operations) — I personally opened over 100 hotels with Marriott International and worked on more than 200 hotel projects across the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

It gave me an incredible foundation in hospitality, logistics, and creating unforgettable guest experiences. But it also set me on a different path…

A Life Transformed by Travel

Yes, my career had me traveling constantly — sometimes it felt like I lived in airports. But here’s the truth: outside of work, I traveled even more.

I didn’t have endless PTO. I didn’t have unlimited time. But I had a fire.

  • I once flew to Australia for just three days.

  • In just three years, I visited over 30 countries — mostly on my own dime, on my own time.

  • And one year, I flew to London for the weekend more than 7 times. That was my “normal weekend.”

And here’s the best part: during those London trips, I reconnected with a cousin who became one of my closest friends. That’s when it hit me: travel connects us in the name of love.

It wasn’t just about seeing places. It was about creating bonds, building community, and feeling more alive than ever.

The first time I went abroad, something inside me shifted. Travel wasn’t just a passion — it became my purpose.

Why I Started Go Travel Community

With over 20 years in hospitality, 50+ countries visited, and countless connections made along the way, I wanted to build something bigger than myself.

I created Go Travel Community (GTC) to:

  • Help the world go travel.

  • Build community through connection.

  • Make an impact by giving back.

That’s why GTC donates 10% of profits to nonprofits — and even better, our customers and Luminary Travel Advisors get to choose the cause. Every trip makes a difference.

Every three months, I’ll release an Impact Report showing exactly how many lives we’ve touched — meals served, homes built, communities supported. Because travel should leave the world better than we found it.
